Student Health Insurance

The UT Dallas Student Health Insurance office manages the UT Dallas student health insurance plans, provides confidential claim advising services and serves as an information resource regarding local healthcare provisions. All international students at UT Dallas are required to purchase health insurance in order to maintain the visa status and register for classes. The university automatically enrolls and charges students to a specific insurance plan. As per the university and Texas state policy, students must purchase insurance plans in the two long semesters (Fall and Spring). However, it is not necessary for students to purchase insurance plans during the summer semester unless they take classes at UT Dallas. However, BSO highly recommends students to have their health insurance covered for the entire year since medical expenses are very high in the United States.
